Rubber stamps, new assignment board, oh my!
I have had co-workers that notice something strange about me. I have had a few laugh at me but I have my quirks! I love my rubber stamps! I use them for grading and much more! Look at one my three drawer organizer! Plus, I have more in my desk drawer.
These are my favorite. I use Rubberstampman.com to order my customize stamps. They offer offer free shipping on any order over $8. They may made all of the stamps pictured except for the two bottom wooden stamps. One of my favorite sellers on eBay is stampman46501. I ordered the wooden stamps from him. He is able to make a custom stamp from almost any template that you create in a WORD document.
I use them while grading homework especially at the beginning of the school year. There are some homework assignments that I use a "check-point" system to grade. Students must ATTEMPT or TRY to complete at least 75% of the assigned problems in order to receive full credit (5/5 points). If they complete <75% of the assignment, they receive 1/5 points. I don't grade all homework assignments like this. There are several homework assignments that I grade for accuracy.
One of the black rubber stamps pictured above contains a small rubric that I use to grade what I had called " Math Do Now Journals" or bell work. At the school that I am currently working, we are required to have students to complete exit tickets. Mmmmm. I feel that a new rubber stamp will be ordered soon!
Last Friday, I rearranged my student desks. I discovered that my room was really crowd with 4 trapezoid desks side by side. One of my classes was also way too talkative. I sought help from an English teacher down the hall. I noticed how she had arranged her desk. She said that students can turn around to the other students to form a group. I loved it! I was able to walk up and down my aisles.
I finally rearranged my assignment board. I am much more happier with this assignment board. I think my students are having an easier time reading their assignments for the week.
